2012 Ruddy Bloom, Rosé Wine, El Dorado County

La Colline des Pommes

RATING: 86 points (Highly Recommended)

CATEGORY: Rosé, Pink

TASTING DATE: May-06-2013

Distinctive orange pink color. Aromas of cherry custard pie a la mode and strawberries and cream with a supple, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a tangy blood orange and apple finish. A nice drier styled rose for the table.

Our first Rosé, this wine is a combination of Grenache and Mourvedre from the Apple Hill area of El Dorado County.

The 2012 Ruddy Bloom Rosé exhibits notes of grapefruit and lime on the nose, and bright juicy strawberry on the palate support the silky mouthfeel in a Rosé, with just a hint of tannins in its delicate structure.

A nice alternative to French rose' s like Tavel for your summer drinking. Not tremendously concentrated like most of Gary's wines, but just what you want for warm summer quaffing. A great value!
