We’ve been busy this winter! Right on the heels of harvest and the holidays, 2012 started out with a bang for us.
Introducing Jordan’s Journey
In March, we traveled to the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford Connecticut for the Jordan’s Journey 2012 Gala. Our dear friends and Club Members Ernie, Marisa and Taylor lost their son and brother a year ago to suicide. They created the Jordan Matthew Porco Memorial Foundation to foster communication and education about the tragic aspects of this growing health condition. At Ernie’s request, Miller Wine Works handcrafted two special wines for this event and named them Jordan’s Journey. A portion of the sale of these wines will support the continuing mission of the Jordan Matthew Porco Memorial Foundation.
Two New Wines, and a Gold Medal
This is our first white wine. Making whites is very different than reds as it is a more delicate process, and we’re very pleased with the result. The 2011 Jordan’s Journey White is a blend of 75% Roussanne, 20% Viognier, 5% Marsanne. The Jordan’s Journey Red is also a first - our first with Mataro in the lead position (60% Mataro, 33% Syrah, 7% Grenache). This wine, like the Syrah, has been a hit right from the start, winning 93 Points and a Gold Medal at the Consumer Wine Awards in Lodi, and a Silver at the San Diego International Wine Competition. We are honored to be ranked so highly with such large group of competitors and such esteemed judges.
New Website
And if that wasn’t enough – we’ve revamped the website. We now can offer you ecommerce, tasting notes and have a full array of recipes to go with your club shipments. Be social – share your comments, Like us on Facebook or leave a blog comment. Feedback encouraged and welcomed!
Wine Club Now Gets 20% Off Wines
And we couldn’t do anything without you, our loyal Club members, so we wanted to reward you for being there for us by increasing your discount on all wines to 20%. And we’re planning some events, too, so we’ll be able to gather together as Workplace Wine Club soon this summer.
So it’s been one crazy year - we can’t believe it is only April – whew! It is now bud break and time to worry about the vines again. Ahh, the simple life of a farmer!
Cheers,
